Royal Caribbean International is making exciting changes to its Wonder of the Seas, one of the company’s largest Oasis-class ships. The cruise line announced plans to expand the ship’s casino, moving the existing venue into the space currently occupied by the Crown Lounge on Deck 4. This expansion is part of a broader effort to enhance the overall guest experience, with a focus on offering more entertainment and leisure options for passengers.
While the changes are being implemented, Royal Caribbean is working to ensure a smooth transition for all guests, including those who are members of the Crown & Anchor Society, the cruise line’s loyalty program. The Crown Lounge, which was previously an exclusive space for higher-tier Crown & Anchor members, will be relocated to a new area on Deck 16. This shift is aimed at improving the lounge’s accessibility while also allowing for a more spacious and modern casino experience.
During the transition period, which will take place from June 22 to June 28, the Crown Lounge will be temporarily closed. However, it will reopen on June 29 in its new location on Deck 16. To accommodate Crown & Anchor members, Royal Caribbean has ensured that eligible guests can still take advantage of their perks during the closure. The company announced that cocktail hour drinks can be redeemed at any bar or lounge, and Diamond and Diamond Plus members will receive extra cappuccino credits, available for use at Café Promenade.
Meanwhile, Social100, the ship’s teen club, will also remain closed during the renovation period but is expected to reopen on June 29. This means there will be a brief hiatus for certain onboard amenities, but the changes are intended to enhance the long-term experience for all passengers.
The changes to the Wonder of the Seas align with Royal Caribbean’s strategy to continually improve its onboard offerings. By expanding the casino and introducing a larger, more modern Crown Lounge, the company is aiming to enhance the entertainment and luxury experiences available to guests.
The Wonder of the Seas is the fifth ship in the Oasis-class and was launched in early 2022. It currently sails on seven-night cruises to the Caribbean from Port Canaveral, Florida, providing passengers with access to a wide range of luxurious amenities and activities. With these enhancements to the ship’s casino and exclusive lounges, Royal Caribbean is positioning the vessel to remain a top choice for those seeking both relaxation and adventure at sea.
As the Wonder of the Seas continues to undergo these enhancements, the ship is set for additional changes in the future. Starting in August 2025, the Star of the Seas will take over the current cruise schedules for Wonder of the Seas, as the ship moves to Miami for short Caribbean cruises. This shift reflects Royal Caribbean’s strategy to diversify its fleet offerings and ensure that each ship provides the best possible experiences for different types of travelers.
Additionally, Royal Caribbean recently launched the Utopia of the Seas, which also features a larger non-smoking casino and expanded leisure amenities. The Utopia of the Seas, which began service in 2024, follows in the footsteps of the Wonder of the Seas, showcasing the company’s commitment to innovative onboard experiences and better customer satisfaction.
As part of its ongoing efforts to redefine the cruise experience, Royal Caribbean is focusing on offering a variety of entertainment options, from casino gaming to exclusive lounges and family-friendly spaces. These upgrades will not only appeal to guests who appreciate fine dining and entertainment but will also help ensure the company maintains its position as a leader in the cruise industry.
The expansion of the casino and the relocation of the Crown Lounge aboard Wonder of the Seas mark important steps in Royal Caribbean’s ongoing strategy to offer a more luxurious and diverse experience for its passengers. With improvements in the casino, lounge spaces, and other guest amenities, the company is setting a new standard for cruise ship entertainment and exclusive services. These changes, along with the ongoing shift toward larger non-smoking areas, demonstrate Royal Caribbean’s commitment to creating an inclusive and comfortable environment for all guests.
As Wonder of the Seas prepares for its new phase, Royal Caribbean continues to innovate and enhance its offerings, ensuring that its ships remain among the best in the industry. With a focus on luxury, comfort, and cutting-edge amenities, the company is poised to offer passengers unforgettable experiences as they sail to the most sought-after destinations around the world.
